The Major Scale (Advance)

Have you read The Major Scale (Basic) ? if not, i recommend to read it first.

So now you know how major scale formed, and now how to play it on guitar?
To know every note you play on guitar is a must, but of course it will take very long time.
There is a trick to play major scale without knowing what note you played, the trick is using major scale pattern. There are 5 pattern.

Let's see, if want to play C Major Scale,

Here is the pattern :

On the first pattern we start from 8th fret on low E string, that is the root, C note, and so on to the last note on high E string. That pattern is C major scale. and go to the next second and third and so on to the fifth, that will cover all frets on guitar.

Practice that pattern and you can easily play solo on C Major scale.
"What if i want to play A Major scale?"
it's easy, all you need is to find the root note on low E string, and then play the first pattern, and so on.
so if you want to play A Major scale, the first pattern start from 5th fret on low E string.

And that's it, but remember not just to practice the pattern, but you MUST know what note you are played, it will help you in the future.
